Allegations: What to Do
If you learn that an allegation has been made against you that could result in a criminal or Children’s Aid Society (“CAS”) investigation, remain calm and contact the Local or the provincial ETFO office for support.
If you are contacted by the police or the CAS regarding an allegation against you:
If you are notified about an allegation after office hours, you can contact ETFO Provincial office if you are in an “emergency” situation.
What is an Emergency?
- You are facing criminal charges for an alleged criminal offence directly related to the performance of your professional duties;
- Police are on the scene or on the way; and
- You are at risk of being arrested/incarcerated.
